The Infinite Choices Of Gaming - 1 of 3 Joc Privat November 2009
Preview proudly presents the latest projects of gaming manufacturers from all over the world before the final marketing of them begins in the New Year. Visitors and exhibitors to Preview know that this professional show allows the interchange of ideas and networking in a much more stress-free and relaxed atmosphere than that of a large-sized show.
This is Preview’s advantage, and this year there was an added attraction to the show as it was the first opportunity to see the new stake Category C machines after the summer. Category C machines are the equivalent to the Spanish Category B games. In the UK they now have a jackpot of £70 in single sites and up to £500 in arcades.
Preview therefore became a launching pad for product manufacturers and of course for operators who were looking for this type of product. In fact, this year’s Preview show hosted an entire array of new creations, the majority of which are still in the prototype phase.
The redemption sector shone especially brightly at this year’s Preview, confirming as it did the year before that redemption is a reliable alternative to other forms of gaming and amusement.
British arcades and FECs have observed with satisfaction that the redemption product has a definite niche and the capacity to offer alternative amusement particularly to families.
Finally, mention must be made of the organizers, Howard & Wikberg. Their professionalism was especially noticed in the details, such as their excellent worldwide media campaign. Preview’s objective has always been to contribute to the promotion of the gaming industry from an international perspective.
The widespread financial adversity, to which our industry has also been subjected, did not negatively affect this attractive event, which boasted an infinite variety of products and a large number of professional visitors. In fact, this year international visitors attended from more than thirty countries. Oscar Delgado
The possibility that the starting price of the machines equivalent to the Spanish B machines is 1 pound and that the prize reaches 70 pounds in pubs and 500 pounds in gaming halls opens a new opportunity for British gaming. Preview has been the most advantageous scenario for the manufacturers to present to the operators the new versions adapted to this new regulation.
Preview has arisen as an excellent meeting point for professionals of the industry coming form Europe and from other countries in order to advance and formalize sales transactions in a relaxed atmosphere.
The magazine Joc Privat once again arose as the only representative of the Spanish press in this London professional show, which maintains as its principal objective the expansion and projection of our industry.
Electrocoin is one of the inspirations of the sector in the United Kingdom and in the projection of the industry in Europe. Its stand permitted accessing two of the new creations from Taito: Hopping Road and Panic Museum, and others from Konami: GTI Club Super Mini Festa and a new version of the dance machine, Dance Dance Revolution. The pictures show the first two from the Taito factory along with Chris and John Stergides. Pay attention to Hopping Road, a very fun game that also requires certain physical condition, and in which children and adults alike can enjoy greatly, capable of being adapted to redemption.
The impact of the economic and financial crisis in the Gaming industry does not escape our readers. In the United Kingdom, which apparently will begin the new year coming out of the recession, these circumstances have been and are very significant. For that reason, the organizers of Preview, Howard & Wikberg, tried to attract representatives from British banking and finance so that they might observe the dynamism and the capacity to respond to the adverse situations through innovation and technological development. Nat Solomon is a senior executive of Barclay’s Bank, who got first-hand knowledge of this professional show. Solomon, in the picture with Philip Howard, is also the president of the London football club of the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspurs, a circumstance that he used to transmit to JP his admiration for the excellent generation of Spanish football players that head European football.
