  Preview 2010 Delivers Again 2 of 2
Game Time International No. 89 - November 2009

Exhibitors gained terrific feedback
It was a positive Preview, according to the exhibitors. Visitor numbers were up on last year and the first day of the show was particularly busy.
“Overall we have been extremely pleased with the feedback we received from exhibitors. We are already gearing up for next year’s exhibition which will take place slightly later on October 21-22,” says Ylva Howard, show organiser.

Here are some of the comments received from this year’s exhibitors:

“Preview was a great success for Gamestec. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase a range of exclusive products and services and to meet with key customers in excellent surroundings. Preview is the foremost ‘networking event’ in the industry calendar and this year was no exception. The organisers worked very hard to stage a professional show against a challenging economic backdrop and they delivered high quality visitors.”
Peter Davis – Gamestec

“Although Preview was on just one floor this year, the attendance figures were high and the quality of people that I saw was the best in years. From arcade to bingo and casino, we saw a very wide range of customers on our stand – particularly on the first day. And it was refreshing to find that there wasn’t as much doom and gloom as there has been in the past. In fact, there was real interest and optimism about Category C and we did take orders during the show. We were also really pleased with the response to our bingo products. To conclude, I would say we were quietly surprised at how good the show was and how many great people were there.”
Alan Rogers – Astra Games

'It was the sixth time RLMS Sales has exhibited at Preview and we were overwhelmed with the level of support we received from both new and existing customers. We found that visitors to our stand had an optimistic outlook about the current state of our industry and were very intereted in the brand new products we had on display for the very first time. With a wide range of products for all markets, we feel that Preview is a perfect way for us to showcase the best the industry has to offer. As always we found the show to be extremely well organised for both exhibitors and visitors and look forward to doing it all again at Preview 2011.'
Martyn Allsop – RLMS Sales

“Historically Preview has been really useful for us, unfortunately the current difficult trading conditions have meant that the last two shows have not been as good for Crown Direct. That said, we found the exhibition to be as well organised as ever and we also gained real value from getting in front of our customers and being able to discuss their needs and requirements.”
Dean Harding – Crown Direct

“Preview proved to be a worthwhile launch pad for 3 European debut games: Photo Finish, Go Ballistic and Marksman. It also offered the opportunity to preview the eight 2010 settings for Clenaflex. Attendance appeared to be lower than previous years, particularly on the second day of the show, fortunately the calibre of the visitors was high, sales were achieved on almost all our machine types and categories. Overall the Preview matched our expectations.”
John Brennan – Brent/Namco Europe

“The Preview this year was a well timed opportunity for Sega to demonstrate to the trade it's new and expanding product portfolio. The addition of pushers, air hockey and basket ball games, shooting galleries and more has been well received - the message was clear and it was an extremely good platform to do this. Attendance on the first day was better than expected and sales were received. Time is now to evaluate if they were additional sales and if they will get shipped before Christmas - then the true benefit of the investment can be assessed. The show itself was well executed and organised as ever.”
Justin Burke – Sega Amusements Europe

“Barcrest Group enjoyed a very positive reaction to its new games at the Preview recently, which were demonstrated on the stands of its distributors MDM Leisure and Crown Direct/Deith Leisure. We were delighted with the feedback we received from visitors and our distributors supported and promoted our products with great enthusiasm. It was a very successful show for Barcrest Group!'
Tim Kennedy – Barcrest Group

“AMG is pleased to report that yet again Preview has created a healthy order book. We were delighted that so many customers took the time out to visit us at Preview. We have a strong product line at the moment and were very pleased with the enquiries and orders taken. Our two new pushers Snakes ’n’ Ladders and Carousel did particularly well. Snakes is now sold out until next year and only a handful of Carousels are left for this year.”
Ian Pawson – AMG Leisure

“The Preview is our favourite show as FatSpanner's market is predominantly the UK. This year we had our best show ever. Our stand has never been as busy and for the first time in FatSpanner's history our sales hit the triple digits. However, the Dab For Life Bingo terminals, endorsed by the Breast Cancer Campaign charity, stole the show. Everyone congratulated us on the product and site testing with a major Bingo player was agreed at the show.”
Alfio Monterosso – Fatspanner

“Preview 2010 was an important show for Cashpoint. Signs on the first day were good. We were able to show both our new cabinet and new betting platform for the first time in the UK. Both were extremely well received with operators excited about the new options available to them. These are however difficult times for many operators. The introduction of our 'bookie in a box' scheme with its new weekly rental options has helped take the strain out of the operators’ pocket. The options available through our scheme mean that operators can reap the benefits of Licensed Betting Shop operation for a very small initial outlay. Visitors were of a good standard at the Preview. They are very knowledgeable of the products out in the market and are all in the same situation in looking for a product that will help them.”
Stefan Nemec – Cashpoint

“A successful exhibition, especially in this economic climate, lays tribute to a tri-part contribution, the right location, the right exhibitors and most importantly the right visitors. This year's Preview delivered all three. Although working with a reduced exhibition area, Preview attracted high quality visitors with either authority and/or influence to make purchasing decisions, demonstrated by our own product Big Tony's Pokerkard amassing intense interest throughout the two days resulting in early post show sales.”
Tony Eyre – Nova Productions

“We were particularly pleased by the number and calibre of visitors at the show especially on the Wednesday and there were a lot of sales generated. The new £70 jackpot machines in particular 7th Heaven from Barcrest Group and Pure Gold Player from Astra Games proving highly popular and selling in excellent numbers. The machines are performing very well and we hope to receive further orders when following up customer's interest from the show. The show has given the industry a boost and an opportunity to show proven tested products that will help to boost customer's takings.”
Mark Lewis – MDM Leisure

“Together with Amatic we decided to take a bigger stand this year as we felt the Preview has started to draw the attention of the UK Casino and Betting office companies as well as traditional arcade and single site operators. This we believe was the right move for us as we created sales and also found our larger profile to be more acceptable than where we were situated last year.”
Hans Bierrum – Genesis Games

“Sound Leisure had an extremely positive show this year. We always feel that the Preview offers a superb platform to network and to show our latest products and this year was no exception, in fact if anything we found it better than ever, the single floor layout seemed to enhance the atmosphere.”
Chris Black – Sound Leisure

“The Preview show turned out to be much better than we had hoped for. We had a particular product to promote and it went down extremely well. Thanks to the timing of Preview we now have a head start selling our product and we don’t have to wait until the January shows. So we were really pleased to be there, it was very good for us and definitely worth it!”
Michael Green – UDC

“If you can’t beat the bookies, you have to join them – that was our message. We used the Preview to show AGC operators just how simple it is to adapt their existing business to incorporate LBO applications that facilitate ‘no-risk’ sports betting. The show enabled me to speak to several stakeholders about Betxtech’s offer, which was very useful.”
Melcom Copeland – Betxtech

“The Preview this year proved that even at the toughest of times the Industry needs to do business. From a cost effective base at the show we took numbers of orders and enquiries and this following week has been very active. The social side to the show continues to be of great value and I personally met up with old friends and colleagues and made a number of new contacts at home and abroad.”
Stephen Robins - Infogame UK

“This was the first time we exhibited at Preview and we found the experience very positive. Our products were well received and there was a good level of interest now only from the UK but from some other countries as well. We got a good number of enquiries and found the show to be focussed and meaningful.”
Brian Costigan – Almotech
