A brand new sound SOUND LEISURE As well as its current range of digital jukeboxes, Sound Leisure unveiled the Sound Pod, a brand new budget-priced product designed specifically for those price-conscious jukebox operators who are currently using compact disc updates. As Sound Leisure chairman Alan Black explained, the compact, stylish cabinet is manufactured from a revolutionary material that is extremely robust yet easy to clean. The Sound Pod benefits from Sound Leisure’s Intelligent Music Management System, which constantly profiles the jukebox to suit customers’ musical choice and maximise cashbox income.
Four to the floor TAB AUSTRIA Taking pride of place amongst TAB Austria’s product line-up was multi-game table Fun4Four, distributed in the UK by NSM Music. As well as Texas Hold’em, Fun4Four offers a range of different games of skill (for amusement only), with more designed specifically for the UK market set to follow, as well as a web browser for surfing the internet. NSM’s Alex Kirby commented: “Previously we exhibited Fun4Four at the Restaurant and Bar Show, and just as then, at Preview we have had a multitude of people around the table enjoying the social aspect of its gameplay. It is currently on trial in 42 Scottish & Newcastle pub sites, and as we enter the autumn and winter periods it is performing very well.”
The need for speed UNITED DISTRIBUTING COMPANY Revving its way into Hammersmith, Speed Rider received its European launch at Preview 2010 on the United Distributing Company’s stand. The firm’s Michael Green commented: “A two-player motorcycle driving game, Speed Rider has been on test over the summer season at selected tenpin bowling centres and seaside amusement arcades, and has exceeded our expectations in terms of the income it has produced.” UDC also saw much interest in the new Winner’s Cube SWP prize vendor and Benchmark Games’ new Wheel Deal X-treme redemption piece.
Bedding down WESSEX COIN Taking a prime position in the exhibition’s Entrance Hall, Wessex Coin gave a first-time outing to the new pure SWP from Empire Games, Three In A Bed, which has been designed for the single sites such as fast-food takeaways that are no longer allowed to have AWPs. Wessex Coin’s Karl Prismall commented: “Three In A Bed offers a very quick-fire game, with a range of stakes from 10p to 50p and a maximum jackpot of £40. Launched in August, it is currently showing some very encouraging results.” The firm also showed a selection of Hi-Tech £1/£70 Category C machines to keep the emphasis on the new stake and prize level, as well as the Paragon TT ’09 SWP and Evolution video AWP from Games Warehouse.
