The Final Countdown - Preview 2010 Show Report Part 3
Email Shot Friday 23rd October 2009

Next year’s Preview takes place on October 20-21 2010. Here are the final comments from this year’s exhibitors. Thanks for making Preview such a great show!

“Preview was a great success for Gamestec. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase a range of exclusive products and services and to meet with key customers in excellent surroundings. Preview is the foremost ‘networking event’ in the industry calendar and this year was no exception. The organisers worked very hard to stage a professional show against a challenging economic backdrop and they delivered high quality visitors.”
Peter Davis - Gamestec

“Historically Preview has been really useful for us, unfortunately the current difficult trading conditions have meant that the last two shows have not been as good for Crown Direct. That said, we found the exhibition to be as well organised as ever and we also gained real value from getting in front of our customers and being able to discuss their needs and requirements.”
Dean Harding – Crown Direct

“The Preview this year proved that even at the toughest of times the Industry needs to do business. From a cost effective base at the show we took numbers of orders and enquiries and this following week has been very active. The social side to the show continues to be of great value and I personally met up with old friends and colleagues and made a number of new contacts at home and abroad.”
Stephen Robins - Infogame UK

“We would like to say a big thank you to all existing and new customers for taking the time to visit our stand this year at Preview. This year’s show had a warm and relaxed feel and seemed to flow nicely with the single floor layout. We were pleasantly surprised with the attendance levels and look forward to making the most of the contacts made during the two days at the Novotel.”
Karl Prismall – Wessex Coin

“In terms of the exhibition providing a showcase for showing our products, meeting operators and key decision makers, the Preview show was successful, although Thursday’s attendance was somewhat disappointing. Combining the attendance and the strong interest shown not only to Caribbean Cruise but also to our other games, overall in these challenging times in our business sector Gamesoft was pleased. We are now actively planning production to complete customer’s orders just as soon as possible.”
Robert Higgins – Gamesoft

“Preview provided us with platform to showcase our two new products namely LAI Games’ Star Blitz upright and Textminator. We had a fantastic response to the new tournament mode on Textminator. Everyone claims to have the star of the show, but customers really responded to the fact they could link just about any number of units in order to create a unique competition to find the fastest texter in the UK! Starblitz upright provided the operator a chance to reduce is outgoing on consumables by bringing a more viable option to the table. It has many features others don’t in order to maximise revenue.”
Danny Perkins – PMT Sales

“I was pleasantly surprised to discover that although footfall was noticeably reduced the quality of leads generated was much improved on previous years. I came away with 6 genuine leads that I am now working on and have a real chance of converting into business. Three of those have already been followed up by the potential customer and two have visited me to work on details. All in all a very positive experience and I am very glad I decided to show.”
Ron Dean – Proplas Design

“The Preview is one of the most significant events of the industry. As one of the worldwide leading providers, this year again, TAB Austria was strongly represented with the 4-player table Fun4Four, the Max Fire jukebox, the Silverball and the gambling device Casino from the new Golden Island series. We are satisfied with our presentation at the traditional Preview trade fair. The high visitor frequency and their positive feedback once again proved that our strategy stands the test. With so many strong products we can look ahead optimistically.”
Siegfried Dattl – TAB Austria

“AMG is pleased to report that yet again Preview has created a healthy order book. We were delighted that so many customers took the time out to visit us at Preview. We have a strong product line at the moment and were very pleased with the enquiries and orders taken. Our two new pushers Snakes ’n’ Ladders and Carousel did particularly well. Snakes is now sold out until next year and only a handful of Carousels are left for this year.”
Ian Pawson – AMG Leisure

“We went into the show with some trepidation. It’s not been a great year, but we are still making sales and there are businesses with an appetite to expand and invest. Less of them maybe, but those looking for something new or different are just our kind of customers. As it turned out, day one was actually busier than we expected and although spasmodic rather than steady we were overall quite pleased by Wednesday evening. Some very positive contacts made and several from unexpected quarters. Even on Thursday, which was quieter, visitors came along that gave us some cause for optimism. Overall I would say quantity down, but better than expected, quality good.”
Liam Barrett – SAM Leisure

“This is the first Preview in the last three or four where I felt real enthusiasm for product and purchasing. Having said that, there were still some faces that were not there and that we rely on to be there. It costs a lot for us manufacturers to exhibit at any show and we need operators to see our product. It is no good them waiting for January to make buying decisions and then expecting to get delivery for early Easter. But having said that we had a very positive Preview.”
Gordon Crompton – Game Concepts

“With reference to the exhibition we did find the level of visitor numbers subdued. However, it is a very cost effective exhibition and provides us with an excellent platform to present our products for the forthcoming season. We were delighted with the response to our Hello Kitty kiddie ride, so in the short term we expect to achieve our expected sales target.”
Paolo Sidoli - SB Machines/Cogan

“Hazel Electronics had a great Preview this year. A busy show and new product launches proved an ideal combination. Site Manager Player Tracking and Site Manager Cash Desk were amongst some of the great products on show. Also on display was a myriad of energy saving LED solutions for machines and buildings.”
Ray Hazelton – Hazel Electronics

“We attended the show for the fourth year running and again were pleased with the visitors we had to the stand. The number of visitors was down at the show due to the economic climate however the calibre of the visitors we had was good and we are converting them into customers with a very high rate of success so yes it was a successful show for us.”
Philip Closier – SMS VIP
