Coinslot Review 2nd - 8th October 2009

“The next critical stage is for manufacturers and retailers to move forward and work together to satisfy the appetite for £70 and in so doing to start to win back the customer base that has shrunk so significantly over recent years.”

Brent Sales previews more Star Performers for 2010
STAND CH13 CHAMPAGNE SUITE

No fewer than five family-oriented amusement machines will be seen for the first time in the UK on the Brent Sales stand at the London Novotel West.

Brent Sales is preparing for Season 2010 by adding a number of new amusement
games to its portfolio. At least five brand new titles from world renowned manufacturers will be unveiled to the UK industry for the first time at London’s Preview exhibition.

The starring role will be played Bandai Namco Games’ new Tank!Tank!Tank! - a full simulation tank battle videogame with pneumatic moving seats. Up to eight units are linkable for head-to-head and team-based blasting.

Amongst the list of debuts are two new releases from redemption specialist ICE, for which Brent holds exclusive distribution rights across the UK and Ireland. Go Ballistic, an interactive ball toss game featuring five fun family themes played out on a jumbo 47-inch touchscreen, and Photo Finish Racing, a three-player fusion of classic midway ball rolling with hires, big screen horseracing action, will feature alongside a further six ICE games on the Brent stand, including BigWin Super Spin, Buster Bubbles, Free Fallin’ (Standard and Max), Hat Trick and The Price is Right pusher.

Adding to the company’s successful line of skill-based merchandisers - which includes Barber Cut and Clena-Flex, the latter benefiting from the release of eight new set-ups - a new prize vending sensation arrives in the form of ‘Marksman’. Game play comprises carefully aiming a plunger to penetrate a target of choice, with successful players claiming one of nine prize categories prominently displayed. Marksman can be configured to host a range of family prize products and has optimum performance at a stake-prize ratio of 1:50.

Another new release, from the Chicago Gaming Company stable, PUTT! Championship Edition, is a ticket redemption/amusement-only crazy golf game that uses a real putter and ball to make the seamless transition between real play and video-based simulation.

Preview stand CH13 will feature more new launches alongside a host of high performance games from other world renowned games developers including Fantasy Entertainment, Jennison Entertainment Technologies, Play Mechanix and Raw Thrills.

Sharing the same stand and providing a comprehensive spares and after-sales support package, Brent Electronic offers a range of extra income generating merchandise for a wide range of locations and player profiles, including the latest electronic gadgets, quality plush, high fashion toys and exclusive confectionery. Bandai Namco Games’ kiddie rides division also presents its latest line-up of Amutec, Merkur Gaming brands of licensed and unlicensed kiddie rides, alongside juvenile amusement games.

SEGA AMUSEMENTS EUROPE
Embracing diversity, delivering choice
STAND CH3-4 CHAMPAGNE SUITE

Renowned for producing top line video product, this year Sega Amusements Europe has teamed up with some of the industry’s leading brands to offer its most diverse product portfolio to date.

Sega Amusements Europe is using this year’s London Preview to demonstrate its most diverse range of product to date. The company has strategically developed its portfolio and built alliances with other world-recognised brands to deliver a greater choice of product for operators.

Naturally, there will be a video presence on the stand, which this year will include the first showing of Hummer Extreme Edition software. Following on from the super deluxe attraction piece, the game will be released in a new twin cabinet from December.

Aside from the ever popular number one video Rambo, and UFO Catcher with its new ‘Tease Tec’ software, the remainder of the stand will be given over to new
family and redemption products. The new Sonic Allstars range of equipment, including basketball and air hockey games, will get its first showing. Designed to be staple classics at any location, these new designs certainly stand out from the crowd, featuring the Sonic The Hedgehog character and an attractive white and blue livery.

After the fresh announcement that Sega and Game Concepts have struck a partnership, three products will be on display. Strictly Disco, a six player pusher, Deep Sea Treasure single play pusher with integrated game play and the launch of a new two player redemption pusher, Great Ticket Take Out.

“We are delighted to be working with Game Concepts, the team behind the company have a knowledge and knowhow to develop pushers that is considered legendary! It’s a great brand to have in our portfolio,” commented Sega’s Justin Burke.

A new three-gun shooting gallery, Side Show, developed in collaboration with Pan Amusements, will get its world debut too. With a compact footprint and a good-value price tag, the piece has been designed to fit into almost any location. Drawing on the best of Pan’s experience and Sega’s sales team, the company believes it can offer operators a long term piece that delivers high return on investment.

Sega Total Solutions will exhibit Elmac’s Ticket Eater and Thomas Changers that it now distributes, and Sega Prize Europe will be on hand with it range of prize products to speak to operators.

Summarising the lineup, Burke commented: “This year operators really will see a difference. We will have pushers, shooting galleries, redemption product, sports games, novelty, prize retailers and, of course, top line video. We have spent the past 12 months working with recognised leading industry brands to build a solid portfolio that will allow operators to buy with confidence”.
