ALMOTECH
Setting the standard
STAND EH14 ENTRANCE HALL

By uniting eye-catching design and flawless build-quality with internet connectivity and a vast music library, Almotech has raised the bar in jukebox production.

Almotech is a leading manufacturer of online jukeboxes and web-enabled background music systems to the home, hospitality and leisure industries. Combining stunning design with superb build quality, the Mini Mystro and the Eclipse set the standard for future-proof jukeboxes, with full remote diagnostics and revenue reporting on demand.

The networking capability on Almotech jukeboxes is so strong that operators can
have real-time access to all the vital functions of the box from anywhere in the world. These include health checks, system set-up, credit and pricing and all reporting. The beauty of the company’s jukeboxes is that while they have all the benefits of internet connectivity, they can also function perfectly if the internet is unavailable.

Uniquely, Almotech also manages its own vast music library. Its music department adds new tracks and new releases to the library on a daily basis, and these are immediately and automatically made available to the firm’s jukeboxes.

Special music requests can be implemented on a jukebox within the same working day. In addition, Almotech’s jukeboxes utilise industry-leading user interface software and networks through its alliance with AMI Entertainment of America.

Almotech jukeboxes come with customisation built in. Eight standard finishes are available and, uniquely, the user interface can be matched with the chosen design. Further customisation is also available for corporate logos, colours and designs.

From a business perspective, very clear and simple revenue models allow for easy jukebox adoption, upgrades and conversions. Almotech’s aim is to remove all the risk and all the hassle normally associated with operating an estate of jukeboxes.

Almotech’s patented MultiZone Background Music System combines the reliability of local digital music with the reach and control of the internet. No matter your location, you are only a click away from the full management of music and messages within any premises worldwide. At the heart of the system is the Almotech music manager, offering predefined music channels to suit all moods in addition to endless possibilities for customer-generated playlists,

SMS VIP
Getting the message across
STAND EH8 ENTRANCE HALL

In today’s tough trading conditions, text message marketing specialist SMS VIP offers operators the means with which to maintain and grow their market share.

This year has been very positive for SMS VIP, the text message marketing specialists to the gaming market, based in Pickering in North Yorkshire. The company has reported a rise in turnover as it continues to take on new clients and to gradually take on more staff hours.

However, it is not blind to the fact that many of its customers are finding times difficult at the moment. SMS VIP feels that by giving its customers the opportunity to use its text marketing products and associated advice it can help them to maintain or grow their market share in these challenging times. Furthermore, SMS VIP is continuing to hold down prices for its customers.

The launch last year of Chimera, SMS VIP’s text messaging platform shifted everything up a gear. With it, customers are now offered the opportunity to be able to send their own texts and setup interactive services on a professional platform, where appropriate to their circumstances, and as such Chimera has become a real success story. Where Chimera is not appropriate the company continues to offer its fully managed service.

Philip Closier, the driving force behind the company, indicated that he continues to expand into the LBO and bingo sectors, with one of his latest customers involved in the lay betting market. Many of his AGC customers are small operations with as few as one premises, while larger customers have in excess of 200.

With SMS VIP size really does not matter, each message is as important as the next one, Closier added. To this end the firm is always looking to improve its
service and invest heavily in technology.

SMS VIP started with Simon Shaw’s Winners Amusements in the North West and has grown, taking on some of the biggest names in the UK and now servicing customers from Cornwall to Scotland. Whilst they are geographically diverse, all
have the same need to increase footfall, reinforce brand loyalty, be in contact with customers when they are off site and to have lowcost, high-impact advertising. SMS VIP has the tools to meet these needs.

SMS VIP sees Preview 2010 as a further opportunity to see current customers and meet potential customers, Closier commented: “We do not do the hard sell; we have a product that works and most of our customers come by personal recommendation. This, coupled with our ‘only pay for what you use’ model, seems to produce comfortable and satisfied customers.”

With every company being encouraged to be green these days SMS VIP recently looked at its own practices and was pleased to be able to report that among other practices: all office paper is shredded and used in animal bedding and then composted down at both the Yorkshire office and the Scottish office (the company keeps chickens and grows fantastic rhubarb); the 9kW wind turbine at the Scottish office generates over 250 per cent of the power used by the computers it runs at both office locations; office heating is by bio mass; remote access software and phones reduce travel to clients for training; and if necessary, the train is always the company’s first choice of transport.
