ICE Partners With Sega Amusements Europe Press Release - 13th August 2009
Joe Coppola, Vice President of Sales for ‘Innovative Concepts in Entertainment’ (ICE) and Paul Williams, Managing Director of Sega Amusements Europe Ltd have announced that effective immediately they have entered into an exclusive distribution agreement for Sega to represent ICE’s extensive product range of product in various countries throughout the world including Russia, France, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Germany, and many countries within Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
Coppola pointed to the strength of Sega’s European sales team as a major factor in ICE’s decision to move its large sports and redemption based product line under the Sega Amusements Europe “umbrella.”
Coppola stated, “Paul Williams and his sales team at SAE have built a tremendous reputation not only throughout Europe but globally and ICE has always sought partnerships with strong individuals and companies. We feel that the Sega team can help us grow closer to operators in these various regions of the world and expand the presence of coin operated redemption games.”
Coppola continued by saying, “Redemption and the whole concept of successfully operating a redemption game centre is still in its infancy stage in many emerging markets, but it’s also gaining strength in those markets that at one point were mainly video markets. Sega has been at the forefront of the video boom and as such have benefited from great relationships with their distributor network and customers worldwide. This relationship between ICE and Sega combines the strength of one of the leading redemption manufacturers in the world with one of the most well respected sales organizations.”
Paul Williams commented “Over the recent years we have seen a tremendous growth in new and emerging markets. In these territories new entrants to the business try to set up locations and instantly contact Sega for advice and support. Unfortunately, previously Sega has only been able to supply the high end video games to these new territories; therefore we felt that there was a gap in our product portfolio. As we all know the mix of redemption and novelty product in a location is ever increasing. Sega has long been the market leader in high end video games; therefore it was only natural that in order to expand our product portfolio we turned to ICE the market leader in redemption and novelty equipment. We are all thoroughly thrilled and excited about the future potential that the joining of both brands can bring to the market.”
Coppola concluded by saying, “Gene Brogowski, our Director of International Sales will continue to work each of these markets in full cooperation with the Sega sales team, but now both ICE and the distributors and operators within the countries and territories will also gain the strength and support of the whole Sega organization which should prove a benefit to all.”
