Sega Amusements Europe and Game Concepts International announce with immediate effect that they have entered into an exclusive manufacturing and distribution deal which will see Sega build the designs of Game Concepts and sell to their territories that include Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, Russia and Africa.
Gordon Crompton, who heads Game Concepts, sited that one key benefit of the tie up was Sega having manufacturing plant at their disposal plus a large and successful sales team that has extensive reach around the globe with a track record of pulling in new business.
Justin Burke of Sega stated “Sega is delighted at this latest deal as it brings Gordon’s company and the heritage he personally has as the best in the business together with our world wide renowned brand. We have led the way in video for decades and are now actively expanding our product portfolio; we wanted to bring pushers onboard we had to look no further than Gordon”.
Sega will be at London Preview with three products developed by Game Concepts including the new Great Ticket Take Out a 2 player redemption pusher. The cabinet, which has been treated with a new ‘vinyl wrap’ finish, features cheeky comic voice overs, fast coin entry and ticket out. Also on show will be the glitzy looking Strictly Disco six player pusher, with wide playfields which are ideal for merchandise. Sound effects, lighting, contemporary artwork and a large glitter ball on top make this the perfect centrepiece. Deep Sea Treasure a single player pusher available in both cash and ticket payout will be shown, with interactive video screen and fast feed coin entry. It is the must have single player pusher that works both at inland arcades and coastal.
Burke added “that Gordon’s products have always been known for quality and reliability, but most of all high earning products with long operating lives. We are contacted regularly from operators all over the world developing their business and setting up new ones, they contact Sega because they connect our name with video. Now we are able to offer far more than just that and the pusher range is an important part of the mix we can now deliver”.
Crompton continued “I see this as a perfect marriage with my company concentrating on the conception and development of new ideas and leaving Sega to build and sell them; it is a very exciting direction for us”.
To finish Burke added “this is personal for me, coming from the home town where Cromptons was based I recall my Grandfather telling me of his times with Gordon’s predecessors in the early 60s when they were first developing a new machine called a ‘pusher’, and the excitement as a young boy in the mid 1970s’ when a new Crompton’s pusher was delivered to my Father’s arcade – history is repeating itself and exciting times lay ahead”.
Crompton’s Genuine Spares will manage the after sales support, spares and service for products under this new venture.
