Full House for Preview
The Preview show is now full – a positive sign for everyone involved in the coin-op industry. This, combined with the data showing that pre-registrations for this year’s show are up by over 30 per cent this year, proves that Preview 2010 will truly be an unmissable event.
“I won’t pretend that this has not been a challenging year for us, in the same way as it has been for our customers,” says Philip Howard, show organiser. “Ylva and I have been working flat out with our team in order to ensure that we continue to offer the best quality service to our exhibitors and the most pleasant possible show experience to our visitors.”
Summer 2009 saw the introduction of the new £70 AWP jackpot and Preview will be the first proper opportunity for the UK industry to get together and review the performance of the new machines. Preview is also thrilled to report that leading UK operator Gamestec is also exhibiting at the show. “All the decision-makers, leading designers and top operators will be at Preview, the conversation on the stands, in the aisles and at the bars and restaurants will be electric. A much clearer picture of the health of the industry will emerge, together with the direction that many leading companies plan to take over the next 12 months,” adds Philip.
But it won’t just be about the UK AWP sector – expect to see a strong turnout of overseas buyers at Preview 2010. This year’s Preview show has attracted more international pre-registrations than ever before. In total, online, post and fax pre-registrations for the show, which takes place on October 7 and 8 are well up on last year.
“What is really exciting is that we have received requests for tickets from visitors from countries that we have not welcomed before,” says Ylva Howard. “In fact, there are six new countries that have pre-registered this year. Visitors will be attending from Cyprus, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Slovenia and Switzerland.”
With leading amusement companies promising to unveil machines at Preview that have never been seen before, it is understandable that buyers are keen to get a glimpse of product direction before the January shows. “Sega is hoping to use Preview to finalise agreements with distribution partners and this highlights one of the trends we are finding,” says Philip. “Because of the great transport links, great timing after summer and comfortable surroundings at Novotel London West, every year we see decision-makers from all sectors – including casinos – descend on Preview because they know they will get answers, see new products and network, without having a make a massive investment in time or money.”
